2003 TJ

Owner: Sonny

Type: 2003 Jeep Wrangler TJ 2DR 4.0L

We are in the process of currently restoring a 2003 Jeep Wrangler TJ “Black Betty“. The owner has a purple theme going which is Jeep Jurastic style.

Replacing the head lights

Torque Wrenches: 2-5 for this install

A halo headlight with a remote which allows the owner to change the lighting to anything is what we installed. The light itself was well packaged and with a protective film over the headlamp area. We started with removing the old headlight, by accessing the nuts located behind the unit. We then loosened and removed the outer case (aluminum). This new headlight system required the computer it came with to be wired up on its own. We located a small area next to the PCU and zip tied it up. Next, we connected the factory plugs into the new wire harness, tucked all away neatly. Connected the positive wire to the positive terminal on the battery. Proceeded with connecting up the ground to the negative on the battery. Reconnected the positive terminal and then reconnected the negative terminal. We went ahead and turned the lights on and voila. We then tested out the remote control and we were able to change to all of the available colors. We left it on purple to match the owner’s theme. Overall, pretty bright light, the remote works well from inside the Jeep and outside. No issues so far.
