Proper Floor Jacks

Using the correct floor jacks when a lift is inaccessible, is very important.

When tackling a big suspension, traction arms, gears, you will need to jack your jeep up at a nice height to avoid hurting your back as much for starters and easier to drop your front or rear end down further, especially when the springs need to come out.

A good set of floor jacks will do the trick. I picked up 4, 12-ton heavy duty jacks, allowing me to raise the jacks up pretty high. I also use 4 or more 6-ton jack stands for backup when I’m doing heavy work under the jeep and putting a lot of movement from hitting with ball hammer or using large torque wrench, it can shift the jeep and make the stands tip over or malfunction. Moral of the story, make sure you have a backup.

Buying the right brand

I like to stick with items made in the USA, although this is getting harder each day, the companies are out there. The overseas brands tend to have weak metal which is not good for keeping a Jeep on or any other vehicle. I like using Hein-Werner but there are a few others out there, but these are great.
